Percy Fortini-Wright
Percy Fortini-Wright is a Boston-based artist with a BFA and MFA from the Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University. His artistic journey began in graffiti, where he mastered wild-style letters, tags, and bubble letters during the late 1990s, while also evolving as a traditional painter of scenes, abstraction, and portraiture, particularly his series Children from Beyond. His work merges classical painting techniques with graffiti, inspired by artists such as Anders Zorn and John Singer Sargent, and pushing the boundaries of both styles.
Percy has participated in major graffiti events, including Meeting of Styles in NYC and Urban Basel in Switzerland, and his work has been featured in juried exhibitions like the Parlor Gallery in New Jersey and the Copley Society in Boston. His art has appeared in numerous publications, including The New York Times, Boston Globe, and Juxtapoz. Percy has also been recognized by The Improper Bostonian as one of Boston’s Best in 2015 and appeared on PBS’s Open Studios with Jared Bowen. His commissioned work includes projects for Flank Steakhouse and Adidas for the Boston Marathon, featured in Hypebeast and Sports Illustrated.
